An Autobiography
Right from the start my life was different than the normal American kid - I grew up in the jungles of Borneo as a missionary kid. Life was filled with the adventures that the rainforest brings; felling trees to build forts, boating, hiking and climbing to other villages, flying in bush planes, and attending boarding school.
By third grade I had acquired quite an interest in computers and electronics. Every spare minute after school was spent inventing some new device (some of which worked), rewiring the phone system, or programming my own computer games and flight simulators.
In eighth grade I stumbled on an old stash of photo enlargement equipment, soon I was processing black and white film in my dorm room. A new interest in the fine arts began to develop.
I attended high school at Faith Academy in the Philippines, one of the largest schools for children of missionaries. It was here that my skills and interest in video production began to build. I worked together with a staff member to start the Faith Academy Network, a TV production club which covered school sports and events.
It was six years later that I began working at Prewitt Consulting, a computer consulting firm tailored to the needs of the creative market in Portland. At Prewitt I provided installation, service and repair of Macintosh computers, AVID, D-Vision, and Sphereous video editing systems, and related network devices, printers, and scanners. The nature of my work allowed me to see into, and glean from, the operations of some of the top creative artists in the Portland area.
In 1998 I left Prewitt, forming Positive Focus Multimedia, my own multimedia production company. My clients and work during the last four years have stretched and formed my creative skills.
