FOR SALE: 2009 WInnebago View 24J

Located in Keizer, OR - Model WD524J - VIN: WDXPF445989359079

We call her Cortana, and she has been our prized adventure-mobile for the past eight years. This 2009 Winnebago View still is, in my opinion, the best little motorhome out there. The diesel Sprinter 3500 chassis pulls a consistent 14 MPG no matter the terrain or how heavily we load up the RV. The 24J layout comfortably slept us and our three kids with enough storage for multi-week trips, and yet small enough to drive like a big van. The tank capacities will get you through a handful of nights of dry camping without even feeling like you are roughing it. For cold adventures, freezing isn’t an issue as the fresh water tank and plumbing are inside the heated coach while the gray and black tanks have heating pads. When parked we just keep the Atwood furnace set to kick in when the temp drops near freezing and have never had to worry about winterizing. For hot days the central A/C cuts 30 degrees off the outside temp. The large LP tank and two size-able deep cycle coach batteries will run all systems (except A/C) for a handful of nights, with the 3.6KW Onan LP generator providing additional house power when needed (and makes for an excellent backup generator for your home).

Cortana has taken us on so many adventures; The Redwoods, the Reno Air Show, San Francisco, Disneyland, Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Zion, Salt Lake, Yosemite, and countless trips to the Oregon Coast. She also took her first owners up to Alaska. We are the second owners and have continued to care for her very well. Our family is grown now and while we may be downsizing and changing up our adventures, Cortana is still young with many years of adventures ahead. Winnebago has built the View incredibly strong; the fiberglass top is built for longevity and is nearly maintenance free, all wood pieces in the coach are solid wood or heavy plywood, the wall panels are impressive, and I appreciate that every part and wire are labelled for easy replacement making it simple to order replacement parts through Lichtsinn. In prep for this sale, Cortana just come back from an annual oil change at The Sprinter Store with a full and passing inspection.

There are a few nicks, scratches and dings as you would expect on any used motorhome, but still in excellent health with many more years of adventure to come. There really has been very few repairs needed over the time we have had her - we redid a few rooftop seals, tires, batteries, replaced the cab-over bed hinges and dump valves, but generally it has just been the little thing things like drawer catches that crack and bulbs that go out. The early-adopter Sprinter engine issues were fixed long ago by the first owners and this chassis has been completely solid for us since. There are some age wrinkles to be expected such as fading decals, some scratches at the edges of the back bumper, gel coat cracks on the back wall (normal, with no change in the eight years we have owned Cortana) and a tear in the linoleum floor that has been there since we bought it. The upholstery is good throughout, though the beds aren’t as comfortable as I am sure they once were - we use sleeping pads on top. The chassis paint and structural steel are in excellent condition.

One item I can’t fix before the sale: This camping season saw the awning start to delaminate. We have a replacement on order, unfortunately it won’t arrive until March 2023. I will keep the order in place and you can pick it up when it arrives (Camping World, Wilsonville), or we can discount the selling price by the equivalent amount and you can take care of this.
