The fog was set in hard on Saturday morning so I grabbed the X-E1, threw on my Aerostich riding suit and headed into Salem on the motorcycle.
My Teen Son - Lifestyle Portrait
My son David is a junior in High School this year.... already! I wanted to capture what he enjoys - he's a Linux junkie and quite a server geek. In fact, he just wrapped up a short internship at IBM this summer. He's a smart kid and It's rare that an LCD of some sort isn't bathing his face in hard blue light.

Fujifilm XE-1 Expose to the Right (ETTR)
I almost hate to write this post, as Exposure To The Right (ETTR) is a near religious topic on the inter webs and I don't want to wade into the fan-boy vs. haters mudfest. But I do want to know how ETTR plays out with the unique Fuji X-Trans sensor in the FujiFilm XE-1, and all other Fuji X Series cameras that share this sensor such as the X-Pro 1 and the X-100s.

FujiFilm XE-1 Manual Exposure - Are the ISO Values Inflated?
Do the Fuji X Series cameras have an issue with underexposure and overinflated ISO? It's a common statement, and if true, it would be important to know how to compensate. In the next few posts I'm going to walk through a series of tests that show the ISO ratings and spot metering on the FujiFilm XE-1 are actually quite well calibrated.
